ShaoGuan 韶关
Doing business the China Way ...
With an all expenses paid trip to ShaoGuan sponsored by the ShaoGuan Foreign Trade & Economic Co-operation Bureau to showcase the business possibilities of the ShaoGuan area... [see GuangZhou to ShaoGuan]
We started the journey from the GuangZhou Dong Zhan 广州东站 (East Railway Station), along with our hostess, Wang XiaoLi and 2 more bus loads of business people from Hong Kong and GuangZhou.
With expressways all the way to ShaoGuan, the 3 and a half hour road trip was un-eventful in its self, so it was a relief when we arrived at the government buildings and got stuck into the sponsored lunch of local delicious.
Needless to say, during the next couple of days, there was a lot more of eating and drinking, but it wasn’t all play as we got to see, some real life business success stories from ShaoGuan, namely, a modern mushroom farm, a toy factory, clothing manufacturing factory and a high technology manufacturing plant.
But for me the star attraction of the area would have to be the DanXia Shan 丹霞山 Park and its gigantic symbol, (above) openly thrusting up towards the open sky, which says a lot about doing business in China.
